Challenge: Written for snarry100's prompt challenge 133: art
A/N: Not betaed. I am trying to catch up with previous snarry100's prompts, so bear with me for the ride!
Severus began unpacking their trunks while Harry had gone to relax in the shower. He’d invited Severus to join him, but the older man had waved him away insisting the unpacking get done now rather than later when they’d be even more tired.
Of course Severus had other ideas.
The instant he heard the water running, he began rummaging through Harry’s trunks searching for the sketching tablets Harry had hidden from him the entire trip, insisting he would show Severus himself when he was ready.
To hell with that idea, thought Severus. He was ready even if Harry was not.
Severus sat himself on the bed and traced the embossed initials on the leather cover.
Smiling in spite of himself, he opened the tablet and felt the smile slide from his face like melting wax.
It couldn't be…
Slender hands went from page to page, their quest becoming more hurried as he tore through all three tablets, a look of complete bafflement resting oddly on his often dour face. So invested was he in trying to understand Harry’s art, he didn't hear the water stop nor notice the body now leaning against the doorway.
“Beautiful isn't it Severus?”
Severus raised his eyes to his new husband and felt embarrassment bleed across his cheeks. It was humiliating enough being caught, but this…
Severus waved his hand over the tablets. “I don’t understand why you would choose to sketch only me.”
Harry sat beside his husband and took one of the tablets, turning the pages fondly.
“I told you I was going to sketch the beauty around me so I could remember our honeymoon.”
Dark lashes fluttered closed. “I am not beautiful Harry.”
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Severus and to me, you are a work of art.”
